Happy New Year

Haley will be 3 weeks old on New Year's Day tomorrow. Today we sadly said goodbye to Grandmom who has been here cleaning, cooking, and otherwise helping since Haley's birthday. We will miss her so much! This week Haley weighed 7 lbs 14 oz at her check-up on Monday (birthweight = 7 lbs)! She also lost her umbilical cord stump. She is growing and changing before our eyes.

Baby's first Christmas - 2 weeks old

Haley spent her first Christmas day at home with Grandmom, Pop Pop, Mommy and Daddy

She got to meet her cousins Sophia and Marcello on Christmas Eve

One week old - December 18

Here are some of the highlights of Haley's first week:

First sponge bath - she did not appreciate it and showed us by pooping in the middle of it.

First pediatrician visit

Visited Daddy at work and we used tires as our first babysitter - just kidding!

Rocked by Grandmom - A LOT!

First day home - December 13, 2009

We brought Haley home on Sunday, 12/13 and she got to meet her siblings (the dogs) and was visited by her abuelos (Martin's parents) and aunt Silvia. Grandmom (Megan's mom) is also staying with us for a couple weeks - thank goodness!!!

Haley is here! December 11, 2009

On Friday, December 11, 2009 at 3:25 p.m., Haley Jane Gabalda came into the world screaming and healthy! She weighed 7 lbs and was 19 1/2 inches long. Megan's mom arrived from Dallas just in time for the big event - got off the plane and to the hospital (thanks to Ellen!) at around 12:30 p.m. that day! Martin's mom and Ellen were also there waiting for her to be born, and Martin's sister Silvia came that evening to see her new niece. Martin got to follow Haley around throughout the nursery for her various traumatic procedures. I had to stay in the ICU one night due to preeclampsia (as a precaution). It was miserable since I was attached to an IV pole and blood pressure cuff, and the constant interruptions of nurses and beeping machines prevented any sleep. But we were SO happy to have our baby girl, and the hospital staff was excellent.

Haley's room is finished!

Who wouldn't want to be born soon when she can come home to this room!? (Unless she's really a boy - yikes). HA HA.

Thanksgiving - 36 weeks!

We had a great time with Natalie visiting over Thanksgiving and spoiling her pregnant "seestew"! She painted my toenails, cleaned the microwave, and wrapped some Xmas presents for me among many other helpful things. Thanks Aunt Natalie!

This was at Martin's store (above).
