Happy New Year
Haley will be 3 weeks old on New Year's Day tomorrow. Today we sadly said goodbye to Grandmom who has been here cleaning, cooking, and otherwise helping since Haley's birthday. We will miss her so much! This week Haley weighed 7 lbs 14 oz at her check-up on Monday (birthweight = 7 lbs)! She also lost her umbilical cord stump. She is growing and changing before our eyes.

Haley is here! December 11, 2009
On Friday, December 11, 2009 at 3:25 p.m., Haley Jane Gabalda came into the world screaming and healthy! She weighed 7 lbs and was 19 1/2 inches long. Megan's mom arrived from Dallas just in time for the big event - got off the plane and to the hospital (thanks to Ellen!) at around 12:30 p.m. that day! Martin's mom and Ellen were also there waiting for her to be born, and Martin's sister Silvia came that evening to see her new niece. Martin got to follow Haley around throughout the nursery for her various traumatic procedures. I had to stay in the ICU one night due to preeclampsia (as a precaution). It was miserable since I was attached to an IV pole and blood pressure cuff, and the constant interruptions of nurses and beeping machines prevented any sleep. But we were SO happy to have our baby girl, and the hospital staff was excellent.

Thanksgiving - 36 weeks!
We had a great time with Natalie visiting over Thanksgiving and spoiling her pregnant "seestew"! She painted my toenails, cleaned the microwave, and wrapped some Xmas presents for me among many other helpful things. Thanks Aunt Natalie!

This was at Martin's store (above).

Cankles
Yes I officially have "cankles" now. The swelling is so bad that you really can't see or feel any of my ankle bones, it's just fluid. My feet barely fit into only a couple pairs of shoes, and I haven't been able to wear rings in awhile. And you can see my face for yourself...
Work Baby Shower
My coworkers had a baby shower for me today in the lobby of our office. We played several games including one where everyone had to use a string to guess the "girth" of my belly. Every single person overestimated the circumference!
Check out the beautiful cake!!! The pacifier on top is made of chocolate and white chocolate. I'm freezing it until Natalie gets here for Thanksgiving.
